MV Boreas, a container vessel owned by the Spain based shipping company, Marguisa Shipping Line has finally arrived Calabar Port.
The vessel whose agent is Hull Blyth Nig Ltd arrived the port on Monday and berthed at the ECM Terminal about 14.30 hours.
It is the first container vessel to call at the port in several years.
TNMN learnt that the shipping company had initiated talks with the management of the Nigerian Ports Authority after the successful call of two Greece owned flat bottom vessels at Calabar port in 2018.
MV Boreas was also successfully piloted in by the Acting Habour Master Pilot Bida, the same pilot who had brought in the flat bottom vessels after excelling at a simulation course in Greece last year.
TNMN reports that Calabar municipality is agog with this development.
