NAGAFF dissolves chapter executives, plans election
The National Executive Committee (NECOM) of the National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders (NAGAFF) has been dissolved.
The association also announced the lifting of the ban on electioneering campaign towards the 2018 elections into the Chapter Executives.
The National President of NAGAFF, Chief Increase Uche, who made the announcement at an emergency meeting of the National Officers on Tuesday, disclosed the development in a statement in Lagos.
Increase said the dissolution was in line with the Constitution of the Association and expressed the appreciation of the Founder, Dr. Boniface Okechukwu Aniebonam and the BOT to the erstwhile National Officers for their selfless service to the Association.
He urged them to continue in their dedication to the cause of NAGAFF, and serve it in any capacity they might be called upon, adding that there will always be need to tap into their wealth of experience in the service of the Association.
Members of the dissolved National Officers took turn to thank the Founder and the BOT, and pledged their continued loyalty to NAGAFF, while thanking the Association for the opportunity offered them to serve the great Association at the highest level of administration.
The National President also announced the lifting of the ban on electioneering campaign towards the 2018 elections into the Chapter Executives.
Uche urged whoever is interested in occupying any position in the Chapter Executives to go into the field to canvass for votes.
He however advised contestants to play by the rules and put the interest of NAGAFF into account as they go about the campaigns.
It would be recalled that the current Chapter Executives came into office in April 2014, after the March 2014 elections which brought into office for a 4-year tenure.
According to the Constitution of NAGAFF, a member of the Chapter Exco is entitled to serve only two (2) terms of 4-years each. It is mandatory that electorates and contestants must be bonifide members of NAGAFF and Council for the Regulation of Freight Forwarding in Nigeria (CRFFN).
Members of the association have been advised to update their membership of NAGAFF and CRFFN.
